Thanks to everyone that came through! NYC was the wildest RPP we threw and we definitely have one in store for the future. Our photographer TheBoredKids got wasted half-way through and sharpie’d up, so I got stuck with camera duties. Kudos to Melo-X, Meka, Gianni Lee, Fuego, Spicoli, and Roxy Cottontail for holding it down all night. Also, thanks to Santos for letting us ruin their home.

To be honest it’s been a few weeks now that we peeped our cameo in this video….I’ve been slacking on the blogging lately. Much love to Brooklyn MC Fresh Daily for rockin’ our hat in his crucial role in the video (cameo starts at 1:54). I thought it was so cool that artists like Chance The Rapper, Chris Brown, Wonda, and countless customers have gravitated towards this “COLLEGE” snapback. At it’s core, this is a hat that represents our brand perfectly. The design is originally from the 1970′s Animal House movie, where we also got our name from. The friendships, the hardships, the partying, the drinking, the illegal activities, and our love for Art is what banded AnmlHse together. The COLLEGE lifestyle is who we are. What that represents helps people appreciate the simplicity of this hat and understand AnmlHse more as a brand. And that’s why seeing it around is so cool to me….especially when it’s on MTV lol.

3 months in and 2013 has been such a blessing thus far….especially for us ANMLS being able to collaborate with some of the artists we highly respect. When I first heard of Chance The Rapper, he was probably 17, fresh off of the release of his 10Day mixtape. I gave it a chance….and slowly it became my top 5 favorite mixtapes of 2012. Fast forward a few months, I reached out to him on Twitter and we sent him a few products from our Summer 2012 line. As you can see from the end of the “JUICE” video and if you follow him on Instagram, our snapbacks are almost always in the picture. It’s a very humbling experience to have such a talented artist respect your work. ACIDRAP drops April 30th and I promise you it will be your favorite release of 2013.

Ethel Wulf (aka BlackBloodAlpha) is undoubtedly 1 of my favorite rappers from Raider Klan. His music always manages to capture the heart of TRILL and the soul of PHONK….but combine that with his love of Anime & Japanese symbolism and in my opinion you have what inspired the overall vibe of this tape. I’ve been listening to Rich Hil, err Ricky Hil, ever since Limosa Nostra Vol. IV. Although I can’t say I was a big fan I always gave the tapes a chance because he got better with each one. SYLDD, “Support Your Local Drug Dealer”, is no doubt my favorite tape of his and has some of my favorite songs on repeat right now. Fix Me, I Can’t Stand, and Nomads; featuring his friend The Weeknd, are the cream of the crop in my opinion. But I can say the whole tape front to back is as addictive as Ricky’s drug induced lyrics would suggest. His music is very dark and moody, but also very honest and soulful. Self-inflicted lyrics mixed with a melodic, drawn out voice. The vibe reminds me of codeine era-Lil Wayne (Pussy Money Weed, I Feel Like Dying). Oh yeah, and he’s Tommy Hilfiger’s son. Dope shit.
