Last week we previewed Ash Ketchum! This is Part 2 with the ever-so-cool, smart, and stealthy ladies man. The 1 and the only, Lupin The 3rd. He's been a personal favorite around the AnmlHse, and I myself have always respected the man for his fashion sense and his playboy antics (look at the size of those titties to the left. sheesh). Basically with Lupin, I wanted to go with that Street Etiquette kind of style. Clean, classic, and dashing. The shoes were modeled after Clarks Weaver Boots. The suit was modeled after Tom Ford and the tie/belt was to be reminiscent of Rugby Ralph Lauren, respectively. Added some metal spikes to the elbow patches of the suit to give it a little edge. This is my favorite of the series thus far! But what do you think? The whole concept is to bridge Anime’s original character style with a modern-day Fashion twist. Most of these mangas/shows had some really cool characters with trendsetting Style & great Fashion sense, so we wanted to play around with that idea but give it an update. This is Part 2 of an on-going series that we’ll be creating! Expect to see characters from popular Animes all the way to underground favorites. Here's an early Preview of a new project that I'm working on with veteran ANML, Keith Squirrel. We've been working on a bunch of Projects this past year, and although we don't know how far we're going to take this in particular we know there's endless possibilities. An art gallery with original prints? Anime Wall Scrolls, like the ones you find at Comic Book & Video Game shops? Trading cards? At the end of the day, this is what we do and we just want to share these images with you guys. So far now I'll just be blogging good quality previews of this project, and also another Project that we have in the works too. -------------------------------------------------- As far as styling goes, we wanted to keep Ash pretty true to streetwear. He's still rocking his snapback, which will end up being an AnmlHse hat when this Project is finished. He's wearing a unisex American Apparel sleeveless hoody, as well as Mr. Fantastic Air Max 90's on his feet. We wanted to keep his style TRUE to Ash as well, so he's still wearing fingerless bike gloves (fucking Hipster on a fixie). The bike was my favorite part of Pokemon Red/Blue so we definitely had to add that in there. We also had to give a little dynamic and add some more fluidity to this pose by giving him a Raccoon tail. Shoutouts to Live Mixtapes and Babylon Cartel for a great concert. They brought out Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul a couple of weeks back, but to be honest, I came there to see Philly's very own Gianni Lee, Asaad and Paris Artelli.     If you're an avid reader then you should already know that I've been a fan of Asaad for about 3+ years now. From a fan's perspective that knows him, it's very exciting to see him come into his own as a brand and a respected artist. He commands the audience like none other and it's very cool to see people in the crowd chanting his name and reciting his lyrics.   http://youtu.be/3xOiemap_QM   I've become familiar with Paris Artelli thru mutual friends, and easily became a fan of his music. I feel like he could be 1 of the greatest rapper/producers out of Philadelphia and that's no hypebeasting. His performance was 1 of my favorites in Philly, ever. Lightsabers, Silly String, Glow Sticks & Yoshi as a hypeman let everybody know it's okay to have a good time. For a relatively unknown Rap artist to be able to turn the crowd into a party is an amazing feat. Last weekend I was invited to celebrate Yours Truly's 1 Year Anniversary party. Yours Truly is quite possibly NYC's premier Women's boutique, located in the heart of Bushwick, Brooklyn. This was only my 2nd time visiting the shop but everyone made me feel right at home. They had a Cinco De Mayo kegger/BBQ going on with good music, great people, style, graffiti... what else could you possibly ask for? By the way, their backyard graffiti set-up is easily 1 of the trillest out here. I've been finding myself in the midst of many NYC adventures since I moved back in January. There's always something to do, and even when it's nothing too crazy I always end up having way too much fun (ask my liver and my lungs smh). This was 1 of those nights. A special friend of mine was celebrating her birthday at WIP with a couple of friends, so I invited my friends and we were all friends for the night. WIP, by the way, is quite possibly NYC's greatest new underground venue. Especially for the craziness that ensues in such an artistic and intimate setting. We had our own table, courtesy of our host; Quinn (ALIEN, Mishka, etc). Made friends with some cute bunnies on this night, and let me tell you that there were A LOT of beautiful women here. But despite an issue that occurred at the venue, I can say that all of the people I was with had a very interesting drunk story to tell the next day. I've been seeing a bunch of these "zombified" photos of celebs and half-naked women all over Tumblr this past month, and it wasn't until recently that I found out who created them. Dela Deso, aka Richie Velazquez runs a Tumblr that you can follow HERE, and the art he posts is just hella wavy. I sent him a few pics and within a day he sent them back to me, GRIME'd out. Mr. White Lighter is one of those new rappers that everyone needs to keep an eye on. I've had the pleasure of knowing him for a few years, and I've seen his growth as an artist. But one thing is certain, throughout each year he has always elevated his art to a higher standard with each project. DIRTY WHITE MIDDLE CLASS was his introduction to a new audience after a short hiatus, and it was very well received. New Black History Month was another great project, that delved even deeper into the psyche of Asaad. Rapping about such topics as high fashion, exotic women, and the luxury trap life, the content only helps bolster his pure lyricism and intricate flows. I've stated before, and I have no problem stating again that Chance The Rapper's 10Day EP is my favorite project of 2012 so far. The rapping is clever and almost hypnotic how he raps on certain tracks. The harmonizing is catchy and a welcome addition to his arsenal of tricks to keep your attention. Juke Juke, Prom Night and U Got Me Fucked Up are my favorite tracks on here, but the whole project is a solid A+ to me. And the fact that he just turned 19 and the vision for his music seems so authentic, it amazes me. Just goes to show you what happens when you follow your dreams, and stay true to yourself. For those who haven't heard of Chief Keef, here's a Kanye West remix that I'm sure you'll be hearing a lot this Summer. "I Don't Like" is the popular single off of his latest project, Back From The Dead, that simply raps about shit that he don't like. Word on the internet is that the Young Chop, the original producer of "I Don't Like" is not too happy with Kanye West tinkering with his beat. To be honest, the beat does sound better in quality and cleaner at most points, but that's the issue in a way. Artists like Chief Keef are all about the DIY aesthetic. That raw, grittiness and in actuality that's the sound we have all come to know and love. I'm sure Young Chop and Chief Keef respect Kanye for taking notice to his Chi-City movement but then again, I personally think Kanye has no choice but to take notice.
